Site revamp

I have not used this site in a while so I decided to revive it and do some cleanup and remodeling not that the major work on the new house is done. I will be posting pictures of the region, the now house and our beautiful girls.

This month I bought a new toy. A Jeep Gladiator. I previously had a Toyota Tundra, one of 6 I owned over the last 20 years, but as life changes so do out needs. With more desert and overland trips and the prospect of hunting in some remote areas in the west, I opted for a vehicle that is better suited for my needs. I had for years planned on buying and hauling a trailer. But the storm of Covid buyers plus the weight limitations of the current Tundra models ruled me out. So I thought to myself, how do I actually use my truck mow days? Well, it seems we use if more in 4WD more than towing. Given that the decision was clear. Trade for a Jeep Gladiator and live with less towing capacity but more reliable off road use.  So here she is, the Black Dog. Named for my pup Bella the black lab/golden.

Long Winter with New Lockdowns - Hope on the Horizon?

 It has been a long year to say the least. With the world working from home locked down like kenneled dogs. A tumultuous election over in which nobody won and everyone wants to kill everyone. The future is looking pretty bleak. Or is it? With several new vaccines online it will be interesting to see the outcome of the first waves of vaccines and if they stay effective as the virus mutates as it has shown it does. Time will tell. Meantime I've taken a few pictures this year of the brief travel we did to get out of our St Louis place. I'll post those later. I am getting ready to change up the blog format soon to start cataloging some hiking and RVing and perhaps some cross country road trips..
